More than 500,000 troops deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001 suffer from PTSD, according to the David Lynch Foundation website.
David Lynch, the award-winning Hollywood director whose credits include Eraserhead, and Elephant Man, established the David Lynch Foundation in 2005. Its purpose is to ensure every child who wants to learn the technique of transcendental meditation (TM) has the opportunity, though its mission has expanded to include “Operation Warrior Wellness,” to help veterans suffering from PTSD. more

WASHINGTON: If it’s good enough for Clint Eastwood, it’s probably good enough for the average American soldier. Hollywood A-listers, including Clint Eastwood, have joined US military veterans to promote what they called the near-miraculous powers of meditation in overcoming war stress.
The event in New York drew an unlikely alliance ranging from fashion designer Donna Karan to traumatised veterans of World War II, Vietnam and Iraq. more
