A recent study found that veterans practicing TM experienced greater satisfaction with their quality of life, including more enjoyable family and social relationships.

The support of trusted friends and family who are there when we need them is a pillar of well being. With the tremendous stress placed on our servicemen and women, these key relationships are critical. Preliminary research indicates the TM program allows individuals to increase tolerance and develop more meaningful relationships with peers, colleagues and family members—leading to overall improvements in their level of fulfillment in life.

A recent study investigating the effects of TM on OEF/OIF veterans with PTS found that over three months, veterans scored significantly higher on the Q-LES-Q, a measure examining satisfaction with quality of life. The Q-LES-Q rates, among other areas, a person’s satisfaction with social and family relationships as well as home activities. As a result, the veterans’ higher scores on the Q-LES-Q indicate improving social and family health and greater satisfaction with their quality of life.
